While walking around Tapgol Park looking for the older guys who play Janggi everyday, I passed by this recycling yard, a wondrous space of beautiful details. To earn extra money, many elderly in Seoul walk through the streets collecting plastic and cardboard, piling it onto carts. They then wheels those carts to a recycling yard where the material is weighed on a large steel platform. The collectors are paid in cash for their recyclables.

The boss of the yard was an older woman who operates the crane. She was very welcoming. We sipped some instant coffee waiting for another guy to show up with material so I could get a subject photographed for the foreground.
